Gorilla Glass is a very special type of glass specially created for mobile phones. It increases the durability of the mobile screen and protect it from scratches and external shocks. Specialty of gorilla glass is that it doesn’t add extra weight yet provide more protection than the normal glass screen. It is a protective layer of glass which is chemically designed to withstand more pressures. Initially android was founded by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears and Chris White in 2003. After two year, the web giant Google took over android after two years. Its been 8 years since first android was developed.
Android Inc was founded in Palo Alto California by Andy Rubin,Rich Miner,Nick Sears and Chris Seears inoctober 2003.

In august 2005 Google acquired android Inc.

The open handset alliance of several cellphone companies was formed in November 2007.

Beta version of Android SDK was released on 12th November 2007

The first android device is released by HTC. HTC released smart phone named HTC Dream(G1) with android 1.0 on 23rd November 2008.

Later Android 1.1 was released in February 2009 exclusively for T-mobile.

Android 1.5 which is also called as cupcake was released on 30 April 2009.

Android 1.6(Donut) was released on 15th September 2009.

Android 2.0 was released on 26 october 2009. Android 2.0 is also called as Éclair. Éclair was based on linux kernel 2.6.29.

A human brain is lot more complex then the most advanced super computer available in the world today. But scientist has been working on developing artificial computer that is said to work as a human brain. In this project more than million high speed ARM processors are used to simulate the processing of a human brain. Yet, the important thing is that despite of one million processors, the proposed computer will be able to model only one percent of the work that actual brain does. Amazing isn’t it?
The computer that works as human brain is called as SpiNNaker. SpiNNaker stands for Spiking Neural Network architecture. Just like human brain, electrical impulses in SpiNNaker are circulated in form of data packets and these packets are sent to all connected neurons, the units of human brain. These connected neurons are represented as equations that are solved at run time of analysis by software embedded in ARM processors.

SpiNNaker has an edge here as compared to human brain because the computer will transmit these data packets at much higher speed than actual biological connection thus the spikes will be transmitted much faster improving the speed of simulation

This kind of simulation of human brain will benefit doctors, neuroscientists and genetic engineers to analyze the complexities of human brain and will also benefit to cure complex human brain diseases and injuries.

Apple A5 processor

Apple A5 processor is a new processor for apple products designed by Apple and manufactured by Samsung. Apple A 5 is expected to be the core processing unit of upcoming apple iphone 5.

Apple A5 uses package-on-package technology, which is an integrated circuit packaging technique that combines discrete logic and memory ball grid array packages.
These packages are arranged one above the other and a standard interface routes the signals in between them.
The main benefit of package-on-package technology is, motherboard space savings and also the RAM device is not coupled with the logic device.

The A5 processor contains ARM Cortex A9 CPU with NEON SMD accelerator and dual core POWER VR SGX543MP2 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), which can move 35 million polygons per second at 200 MHz. The processor powers DDR2 (double data rate) and 512 MB RAM (memory capacity). Neon technology is a 64+128 bit SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data), which is an instruction set that is used in the ARM architecture of A5. This instruction set provides high standard acceleration for signal processing applications. A5 is a system-on-a-chip based technology and it is a single integrated circuit chip that contains all types of signals on a single chip substrate.

iPhone 5 the new and advanced iphone series which is expected to release in this year has naturally boosted excitement about it new features in iPhone lovers. There are plenty of rumors all over the internet regarding the expected features and the new technology that are used in it. As android phones are attracting large community of users, iphones are naturally losing its charm. In order to make up this the new release has to be more attractive than the current one.
Following are the most wanted features:
Please note that these are just most wanted features and doesn't mean that all features will be implemented in iphone 5. It is sure that some feature here will not be installed.

Enhanced voice control

Apple didn't show off any new voice-control features as part of its iOS 5 previews in June but it would be cool to be able to compose and send e-mails or text messages by just using your voice.

Removable battery

This well-known rendering of a future iPhone dreams of a model with a removable battery. That appears to run counter to Apple's current design principles. Though this feature is most wanted by the users the chance of implementing this is almost zero.

Expandable memory

Not happening, but just thought we'd mention it.
Chances of implementation: 0 percent

Biometric security

It's hardly a must-have upgrade, but it would be cool to swipe your finger--instead of enter a password--to unlock your phone.

NFC-enabled (near field communication technology)

Rumor has it that Apple may be working on adding near field communication technology (NFC) into the next iPhone. This is sort of a bar code replacement technology that would allow your iPhone--among other things--to act as a payment device (e-wallet) or even a car key.

More memory

A lot of people were disappointed that the iPhone 4 didn't come in a 64GB version (only 16GB and 32GB). Maybe next year we'll get 64GB.

Improved home screen and notifications system

iPhone users have been waiting a long time for a more customizable home screen, with a real "dashboard" and a better, streamlined notifications system. Apple is delivering all that in OS 5, and though the new design may fall a little short for some folks, it's certainly a huge advancement. Of course, Android users will point out that these features, including customizable widgets, have long been available on Android smartphones.

Better cloud-computing support

In previous versions of this list, we've asked for this feature, and we'll now get it with iCloud in the fall. In some ways iCloud is more restrictive than Amazon's iDrive cloud storage solution, which allows you to store all your photos and videos (Apple's iCloud has not addressed video yet), but it's a big step forward, and the fact that you can mirror your iTunes music library (regardless of where you got your music) for $25 a year is an enticing offer.

Video chat (FaceTime) over cellular network

Currently, on the iPhone 4, FaceTime only works over Wi-Fi (yes, there are some workarounds to get it to work over 3G, but Apple doesn't officially support it). In iOS 5, doing FaceTime over a cellular data network is now part of the settings menu but it looks like the carriers have control over whether it's enabled.

Flash support

This feature implementation is the last thing to expect. This is most wanted but it is almost sure that flash support will not be implemented.

Larger screen

Rumors continue to surface that Apple will be expanding the size of its iPhone screen to compete with the larger screens on Android smartphones.

Better camera

We certainly appreciate that Apple improved the camera in the iPhone 4 (5 megapixels; LED flash), but we've seen rumors that Sony is developing an even better 8-megapixel camera for the fifth-gen iPhone.

Dual-core processor

With Apple's acquisition of PA Semiconductor, it's started designing and churning out its own CPUs, including the new 1GHz A5 dual-core processor that's in the iPad 2. That same processor will almost assuredly make its way into the next iPhone. (The iPhone has an A4 processor that also runs at 1GHz, but the A4 has a single-core architecture).
LG, Motorola and some others mobiles already have dual core processor for mobile.

Improved 3D graphics

The A4 CPU has a Imagination PowerVR graphics chip integrated into it. Like the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 uses a PowerVR SGX535 chip. But the iPhone 5 will presumably get the PowerVR SGX543MP found in the iPad 2.

Better battery life

Every time Apple puts out a new iPhone, the battery life gets better, so we expect no less from the fifth-generation iPhone. Apple says the iPhone 4 has 40 percent more talk time than the iPhone 3GS. So, if the past is any indicator, we might see similar gains in next model.

4G network compatibility

The one big thing missing from the iPhone 4 is next-gen 4G data network support, which is probably why Apple called it the 4 instead of the 4G.

All social networking freaks were really excited about the news of new social networking site that too from web leader Google. There was a day when people used to beg for invitation from the current g+ users for joining G+ and try what is new. But is it worth that excitement?
As most of the people will be into G+ now you would find G+ is nothing but a new copy of facebook. One cannot find any innovative features in G+. For facebook user every feature seems to be exact copy of facebook, a like in facebook is +1 in G+.
G+ as taken advantage of some of the drawbacks of facebook like lack of facility for video chat. G+ hangout option is amazing video chat experience which enables users to group video chat. This feature attracted many users of facebook. But facebook recovered from this drawback soon and with the collaboration with Skype, even facebook provided with the video chat option.
Now G+ buzz seems to be decreasing. According to c-net Google+ had 1.79 million visits for the week ending July 23, a decrease of 3 percent compared with the previous week when the network had 1.86 million visits. By mentioning this statistic I remember previous social networking ventures of Google. That is Google buzz, which was similar to twitter. Buzz did not get any heed from the users. But here the case is different. Google+ got huge welcome and could attract mainly the users of facebook.
Let us watch and see who the real winner here is. Will Google+ really able to succeed in the long run with the social networking giant facebook?

The communication channels has been replaced from normal electrical signals to light to increase the speed of communication. What if we use this technology in computer to pass the signal. Yes it is made possible by IBM's by developing a chip that uses light instead of electricity to pass the signals. It uses the technology called silicon photonics.
IBM developed a chip that integrates many of the necessary elements of optical communication between a processor and other devices. The design uses conventional rather than exotic chip manufacturing technology, involves very small components, and essentially permits a fiber-optic communication line to be attached directly to a processor.A single-chip transceiver of this kind with a capacity of 1 terabit per second could fit on to a chip measuring 16 square millimetres.
IBM's main aim of developing this chip is to build computers that perform very huge calculation quickly expected to be 1000 times faster than today's supercomputers.
IBM's this project is called as SNIPER(Silicon Nanoscale Integrated Photonic and Electronic Transceiver).It is not a recent projects research is being done over decade to reach this milestone.

Hackers have built a virus called Duh Worm that attack Apple’s iPhone by secretly taking control of the device via its internet connection. It is very helpful to parents to avoid children from visiting sites containing explicit contents. Once we put the search in the safe mode then we need to enter password to change the setting.
Once the setting is done then we can ensure the safe search by finding the four colored balls on the Google search page. These will be in Google trademark colors green, yellow, red and blue.

We are aware of display such as Cathode Ray Tube (CRT), Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Plasma display. Now a new type of display which can effectively replace these kind of display is in the market. It is named as Surface conduction electron emitter display (SED).
SED is invented by Canon. Toshiba is producing TV having the SED display.
The surface conduction electron emitter display (SED) is a flat panel, high resolution display. Advantage of SED is its less power consumption when compare to other traditional display types. SED consumes only 50 percent of the power consumption of CRT displays and 33 percent of the power of plasma display of a comparable size. SEDs do not require electronic beam deflection unlike CRT. This makes it possible to increase its screen size above 40”.
Design:

The SED, based on a new type of flat panel display technology, was created through the merging of Canon's proprietary electron emission and micro fabrication technologies with Toshiba’s cathode ray tube (CRT) technology and mass production technologies for liquid crystal displays and semiconductors. It consists of a series of electron emitters similar to the electron gun in the CRT and a layer of phosphor, separated by a small space from which all the air has been evacuated. There is a dedicated electron emitter for each pixel in the display. The SED requires no electron beam focusing and operates at a much lower voltage than a CRT. Intel corp has also developed a thin laptop called Intel Mobile Metro notebook.
Intel mobile Metro notebook is less than 0.7 inches thick—about one quarter of an inch thicker than Motorola’s iconic cell phone, making it the world's thinnest notebook. And at 2.25 pounds, it's also one of the lightest small sized portable computers. Other features include always on Internet connectivity via various wireless technologies. A lot has changed in the 20 years since the first laptop computers appeared. From many years there is a revolution in the field of laptop. We have come across lots of change in their hardware components and software. The processor speed is in gigabytes now. But we cannot make out more change in its hardware components. As we can observe that the laptops that are seen in the past and that we see now have many physical features same as before. Now it is seems to be changing from traditional design of opening display lid and the mechanical key board to more exciting features. According to Mike Trainor(INTEL Corp.) these types of laptops are likely to be in the market before 2015.

In early 1990's concept of integrated pointing device, webcam and speakers where some of the ideas which are integrated part of the device now. Today’s concept laptops are really amazing. Several concept laptops rely on touch sensitive screens that act as the system's keyboard and mouse and go beyond today's multi touch technology. Imagine being able to slide your finger across the screen to immediately shut off the display and keep what you were working on confidential, and you get an idea of its potential.

The display and the keyboards are similar to the slider phones available now. The pair of super bright organic LED panels slide into place next to each other, with the lower panel acting as keyboard or scribble pad.
The whole thing is only three quarters of an inch thick. Together, the 11in. screens will yield about 16 inches of usable workspace, so the system has the dimensions and weight of a thin and light system but the screen of a larger one.

In another type, instead of a display and a mechanical keyboard, the device has two touch sensitive displays. According to designer Valero Cometti, this notebook changes personality depending on how it's held. Opened all the way, it's a sketch pad. Fold it half open and rotate it 90 degrees, and it's an eBook.
By emulating a musical keyboard on the lower half, when it's flat on a table, it can be a go anywhere piano.
Beyond all these features these type of laptop is power saving since it uses led in it. This will consume much lesser power when compare to LCD display that is used today.

The technology that the every research person interested about is nanotechnology. Now the same nanotechnology has become the research topic in the field of mobile technology. The leading mobile company Nokia has come forward to produce a mobile phone using the nanotechnology.
The device called as nanomorph phone is the jointly developed by the Nokia Research centre and the Cambridge University. This future mobile device could be flexible enough to transform into different shapes.

The concept uses a similar principle as spider silk, enabling elasticity in mobile devices so they could be transformed into different shapes to adjust to a specific task. It could involve a folded design to be used in a traditional mobile phone, or a larger unfolded design for displaying more information and involving keyboards and touch pads. Morph could lead to mobile devices that use transparent materials, repel dirt and fingerprints, use solar energy to charge, and use integrated sensors to provide more information about the environment.
Along with all these features it will have an ability to change the color as surrounding environment. It can also sense the touch. It will be possible to take photographs without using lens.
