Symbian OS

Symbian OS is a new generation mobile operating system. Symbian developed by Symbian Ltd is widely used in high end PDAs and smart phones by Nokia. Symbian Ltd was acquired by Nokia in 2008 and it is now working as a non profit organization called as symbian foundation. Symbian platform has been made open source from February 2010. Today about 47% of smart phone use symbian making it world’s most popular mobile OS.

Development Symbian OS mainly aimed at integrity and security of user data, faster and efficient mobile application development and better use of resources.

Latest edition to the symbian family is symbian 3. It include 250 new features which can add to the exciting features of the smart phones. Symbian 3 was released on June 17.
